Calvin Michael

Calvin "Cal" Dwayne Michael, 74, of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on October 7, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on March 27, 1951, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, Calvin lived a life defined by quiet strength and gentle spirit. It would be hard to find a more devoted husband and father. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Wilda Michael and his brother, Craig Michael. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol, children and grandchildren. Married for 54 years to Carol Michael, Calvin was a loving father to Dondi Duffy (Matthew) of Bay Village, Ohio and Carrie Stabile (Ed) of Sharon, Pennsylvania. He was a proud grandfather to Jacob Fiscus, Eddie Stabile, Madison Stabile, Jackson Duffy, and Tanner Duffy, each of whom brought him immense joy.
Known for his good nature, Calvin was a calm and steady presence in every circumstance. He grew up on his family farm in Mercer, where he excelled at managing farm equipment at an early age, teaching farmers how to increase the power of their motors. After high school, he soon married and started a family. He began a career in newspaper machining, guided by his natural talent for engineering. For over 50 years, his career was defined by his commitment and work ethic, which left a lasting impression on his colleagues and his family. Home repair projects were more of a hobby than a chore for Calvin. When he learned of a need, he would show up with his toolbox and a big smile ready to help. He enjoyed tinkering with gadgets, repurposing materials, coin collecting, photography, genealogy and gardening.
Calvin's legacy is a life of kindness, hard work, patience, quiet wisdom and family. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A private burial will be held for immediate family.
