Calvin Schein

Calvin D. Schein, Sr., 90, of Shillington, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025, at his daughters' home.
He was the devoted husband of the late Nancy (Guido) Schein, with whom he shared 29 wonderful years of marriage until her passing in 1984.
Born in Shillington, Calvin was the son of the late Maxwell and Florence (Smith) Schein.
After graduating from high school, Calvin dedicated his career to manufacturing, working as a machinist at Textile Machine Works and Troutman Machine Shop. He was a long-time member of Alsace Lutheran Church.
Calvin had many passions, including gardening, where he was known for his "green thumb." He loved tending to his plants, canning vegetables from his garden, and sharing his love of baking with others. He also enjoyed woodworking and the simple joys of life.
He is survived by his children, Dan Schein, husband of Audrey Ann, and Cynthia "Cindy" Morgan, wife of Matt Hoffmann. Calvin is survived by four grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Calvin was predeceased by his three brothers: Donald Schein, Ralph Schein, and Gene Schein.
The Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 11:30 at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Temple, with inurnment to follow in Laureldale Cemetery. Friends and family may gather from 11:00 until the beginning of service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Calvin's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
