Calvin Seelye Obituary
Calvin H. Seelye, of Cadillac, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024 at his home with family by his side. He was 81.
Calvin was born on March 18, 1943 in Cadillac, Michigan to parents, Orval and Reo (Duvall) Seelye. On October 12, 1963 he entered into marriage with the former Beverly J. Walter in Muskegon, Michigan. The couple proudly raised two children, Christine and Calvin II. Calvin spent his career working for Consumers Energy, until his time of retirement after 32 years. He cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids.
Calvin is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Beverly Seelye; children, Christine (Brian) Peterson of Cadillac and Calvin Seelye II (special friend, Heather Fox) of Mount Pleasant; grandchildren, Nicole (Nate) Sharp, Kacey Peterson, Shane (Ashley) Seelye, Lauryn Seelye (Lucien Stairs) and Brett Seelye; great-grandchildren, Brecken Barczewski, Jackson Sharp, and Macy Sharp; brother, Douglas (Joyce) Seelye; several nieces and nephews; and many other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orval and Reo Seelye; and sisters, Violet Evans, Dorothy Nystrom, Juanita VanderVlucht, and Patsy Fry.
Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 11 a.m. with visitation held one hour prior at St. Ann Catholic Church.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Ann School.
