David Doyle Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hitesman-Holdship Funeral Home on Oct. 14, 2025.
Cadillac - David Brian Doyle of Cadillac, formerly of McHenry, Illinois and Venice, Florida passed away with family by his side on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. He was 59.
David was born on October 28, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois to Patrick and Donna (Jacobsen) Doyle. He grew up in the Chicago area and graduated in 1983 from Rolling Meadows High School and Lincoln Technical Institute in 1988, where he received his ASE Master Certification (highest level.) David started his career in the automotive field eventually working into leasing and becoming a vice president of sales.
He met the love of his life, Leslie Gischia in 2004, and the two were married on June 23, 2007 in Negaunee, MI. In 2010, they brought a beautiful daughter, Delaney Marie, into the world, followed by an amazing son, Shane Anderson, in 2012 - the lights of their eyes.
From a young age, David loved music and playing the drums. Known as "Stix Doyle" he was the drummer for many bands over the years. Although influenced by rock music, he would "jam" to just about anything. Among friends, David was known as "the entertainer." Whether captaining the boat, behind his bar & grill, dealing black jack or spicing up the festivities with karaoke, he was always the life of the party. David enjoyed the fellowship of his friends and family, creating many wonderful memories including the guys Canadian fishing trips. The last few years, he was still able to enjoy many of the things he loves with his nephew, Brian, at his side, supporting and caring for him.
David would cheer on the Chicago Bears and Cubs, but nothing would trump his love for cheering on his kids at their sports and functions. Spending time with them, fishing, at the beach and hunting for shark teeth was one of their very special pastimes, leaving a legacy as a loving husband and father.
David is survived by his loving wife, Leslie A. Doyle of Cadillac; two beloved and cherished children, Delaney and Shane; his three siblings, Kevin (Liz), Kari (Larry) Roy, and Tim (Annabelle); brothers-in-law, Bill (Michelle) Gischia & Jeff (Debbi) Gischia; in-laws, Bill and Kris Gischia; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dawn and Debbie.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11am, on Friday, October 17, 2025 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Cadillac, with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Michael Janowski will be officiating.
