Calvin Dunn Taylor, Jr., 58, husband of Sharon Bugg Taylor, Harrodsburg, died Friday, November 1st, 2024 at the Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital in Harrodsburg. Born October 12, 1966 in Mercer County, he was the son of Calvin Dunn and Carolyn Anderson Taylor, Sr. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, and was a former Danville Independent, Mercer Middle and Bullitt East High School Football Coach. Along with coaching football he enjoyed fishing and loved interacting with the children he coached.
Additional survivors including his wife and parents are one son: Jordan (Felicia Crowe) Blair of Harrodsburg; five grandchildren: Madelaine Grayce Smith, Hayden Patton, Dylan Patton, Olivia Crowe, and Mary Smith; one brother-in-law: David (Stephanie) Bugg of Louisville; his close friend of the family: Don Wendling: his two dogs: Tucker and Marley; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents: Clarence and Emma Taylor; and maternal grandparents: Eddie and Ruby Anderson.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2024 at the Fellowship Baptist Church with Bro. Lynn Releford officiating. Burial will be in the Hill Crest Cemetery in Perryville with Doug Anderson, Eddie Anderson, Jordan Blair, Dale Sallee, Gene Baker, and Vaughn "Kojack" Jones serving as pallbearers and Don Wendling, Hayden Patton, Kristie Foley, and Brian Young serving as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home Inc. & Cremation Services and 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church.
