Mr. Calvin Dale Workman, age 66, a resident of Philippi, departed this life Monday morning August 25, 2025 in the United Hospital Center at Clarksburg. Death was following a sudden illness.

He was born July 6, 1959 at Philippi, WV, a son of the late John Samuel Workman and Opal Jean Glendenning Workman, who survives in Philippi. On June 15, 1979 at Belington, he was united in marriage to the former Diane Elizabeth Plum, who survives in Philippi.

Left to cherish his memory are two daughters; Dema Wilfong and husband Rob of Moatsville and Marla Summerfield and husband Shawn of Philippi, one brother; Donnie Workman of Philippi, two sisters; Judy Williams and husband Homer of Glosser, VA and Susie Cross of Philippi. Additional survivors include five grandchildren; Dominic Summerfield, Alisha Summerfield, Jaiden Summerfield, Zach Wilfong and Xander Wilfong.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother; Johnny Workman and one sister; Robin Croston.

Calvin attended the schools of Barbour County and worked as a core driller for 25 years and more recently he was employed by Wilson Works as a machinist. He was a jack of all trades and was an extremely hard worker. He was proud of the fact that he supported his family. He loved to piddle and tinker around with various things, he enjoyed riding his 4-wheeler and he also loved to cut down trees for firewood. He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren very much and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Graveside Services will be conducted from the Mt. Morris Cemetery near Moatsville on Thursday August 28, 2025 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Jimmie E. Tallman officiating. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.talbottfuneralhome.com. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Calvin Dale Workman.
