Calypso Toumanios, 85 of Bethlehem, PA formerly of Yonkers, NY passed away on July 17, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem. She was the wife of Andreas Toumanios, they were married 28 years until his passing in April of 1989.
Calypso was born in Asgata, Cyprus on May 1, 1940 daughter of the late Nicholas and Maria (Neokleous) Loizou.
She was an assistant branch manager for the Bank of New York in Mount Vernon, NY retiring after many years.
Calypso was a member of Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church in Yonkers, NY and also a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Bethlehem, PA. She was an active member of the Senior Citizens and the Ladies Philoptochos at St. Nicholas.
She was also a member of the Daughters of Penelope, Paeon Chapter #253 in Bethlehem, PA.
Survivors: Daughter Irene Moukoulis wife of William, sons John Toumanios husband of Susan and Nick Toumanios husband of Chrysanthe, brothers Michael Loizou husband of the late Sophia Loizou and Louis Loizou husband of Tina, 8 grandchildren Megan (Alex), Elizabeth (JT), Joseph, Christina, Nicole, Marina, Barbara and Peter, 3 great-grandchildren Riley, Oliver and Evelyn. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Viewing: Tuesday July 22, 2025 from 4PM to 6:30PM with a Trisagion service at 6:30PM all at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1607 West Union Blvd. Bethlehem, PA 18017.
Funeral Service: Wednesday July 23, 2025 at 10AM with a viewing from 9:30AM to 10AM all at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church, 15 Leroy Avenue Yonkers, New York 10705. Burial to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery Hastings-on-Hudson, New York. Funeral arrangements by the Herron Funeral Home of Bethlehem, PA.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Senior Citizens of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral or to Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church.
