Cameron was born on December 14, 1994, in
Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Rodney Knapp Jr. and Ladine (Stolfus) Knapp and the eldest of two children. Cam grew up in New Hampton and attended New Hampton Community Schools, graduating with the Class of 2013.
In his childhood years, you could find Cam outside causing chaos with the North Locust neighborhood kids or at the swimming pool, where he was known for his gainers off the high board. Cam was a simple and selfless soul-never needing much (well, maybe his red shoes)-and believed life was all about who you were with and the moments you shared. With vibrant red hair, quirky grin and a huge heart, he had a special way of making everyone around him feel cared for and protected. He was always the first to stick up for someone, lend a helping hand or offer support to anyone who needed it.
Cam always kept his family on their toes with his wild antics, leaving us with many humorous stories. If Cam loved you, he loved you deeply and without hesitation.
Through his best friend, Cam met the love of his life, Anissa Jerdee, and the two were united in marriage on September 10, 2021, at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton.
Cam found his place at Precision of New Hampton, where he truly enjoyed his work and valued the friendships and connections he made there. He loved the little things that made life fun-riding motorcycles, cheering on UFC fights and sitting down for card games with family. He loved travelling with his wife (especially to Sedona, AZ), until his health no longer permitted. He encouraged Anissa to travel and through her, he was able to see the world. He had a soft spot for Scooby-Doo, and an even bigger one for his four dogs-three German Shepherds and a Blue Heeler-who were always by his side.
Family was everything to Cam. His Grandpa Stolfus and Uncle Scott held a particularly special place in his heart, as did all of his nieces and nephews. Being an uncle to Karsin and Bradley (Godson) Kuennen and Addilyn and Colt Jerdee – was one of his greatest joys.
Cam is survived by his wife Anissa of New Hampton; his parents, one sister, Madison (Devin Bush) Knapp of North Liberty; maternal grandmother Linda Stolfus; paternal grandmother Kate (Pat) Leonard; paternal grandfather, Rodney Knapp Sr.; grandparent-in-laws, Bev Jerdee, Warren and Cindy Schumacher, Bruce and Jo Moorman; Godmother and Aunt, Amy (Steve) Honken-Waechter; brothers-in-law, JJ (Sara) Jerdee, Austin Moorman, Scotty Jerdee, William (Mafer) Seifert; sister-in-law, Lindsey (Travis) Kuennen; nieces, Karsin Kuennen and Addilyn Jerdee; nephews, Bradley Kuennen and Colt Jerdee; in-laws, Paul (Perla) Jerdee, Patti Moorman, Matt Moorman, Monica (Chad) Meier along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lowell Stolfus, his uncle and Godfather, Scott Honken and his beloved dog, Teal.
