Services for Camilla G. Schlautman age 98 of West Point, NE will be held on Saturday, November 16, Monterey, rural West Point, NE beginning at 10:30 a.m. with a Rosary followed by Mass. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in West Point with a luncheon to follow at the GA Cafeteria. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Minnick Funeral Home in West Point is assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be directed to St. Joseph's Hillside Villa in Camilla's name.
Camilla passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at St. Joseph's Hillside Villa in West Point, NE.
Camilla Gertrude Schlautman was born on the family farm west of West Point, NE to Henry and Theresa (Ulrich) Hunke. She attended St. Boniface Catholic School. Camilla helped her mother and area farm families prior to her marriage.
On November 24, 1947, she was united in marriage to Norbert Schlautman at St. Boniface Catholic Church-Monterey. The couple lived and farmed near West Point, NE until moving to Cottonwood, AZ in 1980. In Arizona, Camilla was a member of the Elk's Lodge. They returned to West Point in 2007.
Camilla was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a life member of V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #4912 of West Point, NE. She enjoyed bowling, golfing and belonged to card clubs over the years.
Survivors include-
Sister-Marie Kampschneider of Dodge, NE
Sisters-in-law-Lorraine Hunke of Wellington, CO
Sally Schlautman of Dublin, TX
Brother-in-law-Edwin Schlautman of West Point, NE
Several nieces, nephews and their families also survive her.
Camilla was preceded in death by her parents-Henry and Theresa Hunke, husband-Norbert Schlautman on April 6, 2017, and siblings-Leander Hunke, Elaine Aschoff, Alvin Hunke, Berniece Johnson, and Luetta Evert.
