Obituary published on Legacy.com by Slattery Funeral Home - Marlborough on Aug. 19, 2025.
Camille J. Duridas, 86, of Clinton died Friday, August 15, 2025, at her home.
She was the daughter of the late Seymore and Mary (Kizik) Benedetto and wife of the late Charles Duridas.
Camille is survived by her daughters, Maria Pappas and her husband William of Westminster, Joanna Brunelle and her husband Paul of Hudson, and Jennifer Vittum and her husband Dean of Marlborough, 14 grandchildren, Nicholas, Sam, Joseph, Evan, Alex, Cammie, Marcus, Beca, Ava, Ana, Quinn, Merideth, Ethan and Janie and her 5 great-grandchildren, Isla, Grace, Mac, Charlie and Finn. She is also survived by her brother, Nick Benedetto and her sisters, Joanne Lodi, Marilyn Borowski and Elaine Cahill.
Camille lived her life to the fullest. She started sewing her own clothes at a young age, caring for her four younger siblings, working downtown at Rexall Drugstore, and selling tickets at the local theater. She was always industrious. Her first major purchase-a convertible-led her on a drive to meet Charlie Duridas, her devoted husband of 53 years.
They began their life together in Milford in a small two-bedroom home, where they created many cherished memories, often hosting backyard cookouts and clambakes for the Duridas family. They started raising their daughters in Milford and eventually built a home in Marlborough, settling near Camille's large Benedetto family, who had deep roots in the area. She raised her children alongside her siblings. They loved and supported each other their entire lives.
Camille was a devoted and nurturing mother who gave her daughters a beautiful upbringing. Summers were spent in New Hampshire at Lake Winnisquam, where she and her parents had neighboring cottages and made countless joyful memories.
She poured her energy into sewing, crafting, and earning money for the family. Her talents included working as a seamstress, teaching sewing, painting Sebastian figurines, and doing secretarial work for her father's business. She later became a broker at her cousin's business, Simeone Realtors, launching a successful lifelong career. Camille rose to manager at Dallamora Realtors and eventually opened her own firm, Wayside Properties, which became the top real estate office in Marlborough for many years. She proudly employed her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and gave many young people their very first job. A true entrepreneur at heart, one of her favorite ventures was the Jennifer Kate & Company Doll Shop, a business that reflected her life-long love of dolls.
Her three daughters married and gave her 14 grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Known affectionately as "Grammie," she hosted sleepovers, pizza nights, and sewing lessons for all-boys and girls alike. Her Sunday promise of a donut after church became a treasured tradition. She loved hosting holidays and celebrations, and each grandchild felt a unique and special bond with her. Camille was especially grateful to become "Great Grammie" to five great-grandchildren, joyfully anticipating more to come.
After Charlie's passing, Camille found her final home at Corcoran House Assisted Living, where the staff and residents became part of her extended family and she became an active member of the Clinton community. Summit Elder Care kept her in good health and she enjoyed the social activities there, especially the knitting circle. She shared many adventures with her dear friend Carmine. Her passing was peaceful, surrounded by the love of family and friends.
A prayer service to celebrate Camille's life will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Matthias Church, 409 Hemenway Street,
Marlborough, MA, 01752. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 133 Wilson Street, Marlborough.
