Candace "Candie" M. Wetenkamp, age 57, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI. Candie was born in Elmhurst, IL, on February 22, 1968, to the late Arthur and Betty (Jahn) Wilberding, Sr. She was married to Todd Wetenkamp on September 21, 1996; he survives.
Candie graduated from Tomahawk High School and later attended Nicolet College where she earned a degree in Culinary Arts. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Candie loved spending time at her home in Florida. Baking was her passion. She was an avid crocheter who loved making afghans, hats, and mittens for family and friends. One of her biggest joys was the many Caribbean cruises she took. Candie had a giving personality and kind heart; she spearheaded and never gave up on the search for her missing brother who disappeared in 1996.
Survivors include her husband of over 28 years, Todd Wetenkamp; her son, Adam Johnson; her daughters, Ashley Johnson and Meagan Wetenkamp; her brother, Jason Wilberding; and her sisters, Deb Helgeson, Robin Schultz, and Amanda (Kevin) Asher. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Rhylee, Cooper, Kaylee, Haleigh, and Elizabeth. Candie is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Betty.
