Candy Jarvis Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Candy Jarvis, age 66 of Wapakoneta, passed Monday, August 18, 2025. She was born October 14, 1958 in Lima, Ohio to the late Kenneth and Rosanna Harrod Gilroy. On July 8, 1985 she married Roy A. Jarvis, who survives.

Also surviving are her 4 children – Angela R. (Mitch) Lingrell of Wapakoneta; Amanda D. (James) Gross of Waynesfield; Randy A. (Julie) Jarvis of Waynesfield; Ronald R. (Kati) Jarvis of Waynesfield; 8 grandchildren – Avin, Zachary, Allison, Kassidy, Alexander, Ridge, Hope, and Hudson; a brother – Anthony (Julie) Gilroy of Lima; a sister – Brenda (Vernon) Baker of Lima; and her in-laws – Ronald and Diana Jarvis of Cridersville.

Candy devoted her life to caring for others, both in her work and in her home. A graduate of Elida High School, she went on to receive her LPN education from Apollo. She retired after 40 years as a nurse with St. Rita's Mercy Health. Following retirement, she continued to share her love of nursing while working at Otterbein-Cridersville and serving as a clinical instructor at Apollo JVS guiding the next generation of nurse aides.

Her greatest joy however, was her family. Candy's life was rich with love, laughter, and adventure shared with those closest to her. From her honeymoon 40 years ago, she discovered a passion for camping, fishing, and kayaking-outdoor traditions she lovingly passed down to her children and grandchildren. Michigan was always her favorite camping spot, but she was happy to camp anywhere as long as her family was by her side. Whether sitting around a campfire, casting a fishing line, or simply watching her children and grandchildren play, Candy found her truest happiness in those moments together.

Candy will forever be remembered for the warmth of her hugs, her love as boundless as the universe, and the way she made everyone around her feel cherished. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing that one day they will all meet again-on the campgrounds where it all began.

A time of sharing will begin at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m.– 2:00 p.m., Saturday.

Those wishing to honor Candy's life may make memorial contributions to her family, helping to carry on the love and traditions she treasured most.
