Cardell "Chuck" Verone Turner, 70, Of Savannah, GA passed away on July 2, 2025.
He was born in Savannah, GA on June 16, 1955 to late Essie Mae Virginia Jones and the late Jerome E Jones. A proud graduate of Alfred Ely Beach High School. Mr. Turner went on to attend Savannah Technical College where he studied mechanical engineering. His teacher Mr. Gardener was fascinated with his knowledge of cars that he received the highest accolade for his mechanical knowledge. Cardell Turner was the owner of On The Spot Auto Repairs. Most of his friends would brag on the fact that Cardell who was known to many as "Chuck" could listen to the sound of the car brought in for repairs, and right away he could tell what's wrong. An article was done in Savannah's papers as well as Savannah Business between June -August 1994 Cardell stated "that if the car does not sound like a symphony, making good music there is something wrong". He was also known for his ability to pull an engine out in a day. Cardell's racing car abilities was awesome as well. He won many trophies, awards, and monetary Prizes well over twenty years. He lived a great life doing what he loved the most; Cars. He was very family oriented and loved spending time with family members in and away home.
Chuck was preceded in death by his sister Sheila Renea Turner Chaplin.
Mr. Turner leaves to cherish his memories: Family and Friends. Special thanks to the entire family for their love and support. Special thanks: Paulette, your support has been a lifeline during this challenging time. Thank you for being there and for your unwavering support. I am so grateful for your kindness, it has meant so much to me. Special Thanks: Anthony Clark, thank you for your support during this difficult time, and being a great friend to my uncle.
