In loving memory
Carissa June Redday was born on April 18, 1985, in Watertown, S.D., to Denise (Nelson) Fuentes and Roger Redday Sr., the youngest of the family.
Carissa grew up around the Long Hollow, Lake Traverse, and Sisseton housing communities. In her teenage years, she moved to Sioux Falls, S.D., where she resided into her adult years. She returned to her homelands in 2007, to Lake Traverse, where she resided with her oldest sister, Miranda.
Carissa attended Westside Elementary in Sisseton, Axtel Park Middle School, and Lincoln High School in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Carissa was a constant helping hand with her oldest sister in raising her children. In particular, she had a special bond with her dear Haddy and also her oldest child, Raeleign. She was her mom's (Denise) best friend, her baby.
She was always there to help in any way, shape, or form, cooking and cleaning for birthdays, graduations, special events, and family gatherings. Family was everything to her. She found the happiest of times spent with Grandma Arlene, whether it was just watching a movie, celebrating one of many family members' special occasions, or playing cards-a long family pastime-playing Nuts and screaming, hollering around and laughing with all her cousins, anties, and her beloved Grandma Arlene.
She was known by many names, CJ to her anties, uncles, and cousins, and "Auntie" to numerous hunka children, nieces, and nephews. She was always excited and happy to see all her babies, as they were all happy and excited to see her. She was a joy and a blessing to be around. She treated all who knew her with kindness and unconditional love. She shared in the joys and sadness' of the many family occasions. She had a big heart for her family.
Carissa will be missed by her mother, Denise (Ricardo) Fuentes; her sister, Miranda (Leland); and her brother, Roger Jr. (Miranda Rose). She will be missed by far too many to mention: aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who became family.
Carissa was welcomed into eternal rest by her father, Roger Redday Sr.; her brother, Uriah Redday; her maternal grandparents, Arlene Spider and Alvin Nelson; her paternal grandparents, Howard Redday Sr. and Helen Eagle; her aunts, Ursula Kirk, Brenda Redday, and Delores Larson; her uncles, Fidel Kirk, Cornelius (Jr.) Kirk, and Darren Redday; and many cherished cousins, Brandon Redday, Kristie Hart, Vernon Jr. Redday-Renville, Kathleen "Pooky" Dwarf, and Mitchell Keoke.
