Marvin Francis Kieser

Marvin Francis Kieser, age 90, of Winsted, passed away on Tuesday, August 26th, 2025, at Park View Care Center in Buffalo.
He was born on March 10th, 1935, in Winsted, the son of Frank and Rose (Hertzog) Kieser.
On November 9th, 1957, Marvin F. Kieser and Viola S. Sherman were united in holy marriage at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with three children.
Marvin honorably served his country in the United States Army. He and Viola engaged in dairy farming in Winsted Township for many years. He was a very hard worker and was affectionately called "Marvy" by many. Marvin was a fourth-generation farmer on his family's homestead.
He was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Marvin also belonged to American Legion Post #407 in Winsted, was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #8253 since 1964, and served as a longtime board member of the Winsted Cooperative.
He enjoyed playing cards, watching the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings, fishing in his younger days, working at the fish fry at the Winsted Blue Note, and driving tractors.
Marvin is survived by his children: Wayne (Brenda) Kieser, Loren (Robin) Kieser, and Judith Kieser; grandchildren: Jessica (Brian) Ganzel, Samantha Kieser, Nicholas (Mariana) Kieser, Dustin (Amelia) Meredith, and Parker Kieser; a brother-in-law: David (Judy) Sherman; along with other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Viola S. Kieser, on October 24th, 2023; his parents, Frank and Rose (Hertzog) Kieser; siblings Vincent Kieser, Sister Gration Kieser OSF, Adeline (Robert "Bob") Carlsten, and Elmerine (George "Butch") Lachermeier; and in-laws Albert (Martha) Sherman and brother in-law Roger (Janet) Sherman.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Marvin Kieser will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.
Interment with military rites will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd, from 5–8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted.
Further visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd, at the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Casket bearers will be Jessica Ganzel, Brian Ganzel, Dustin Meredith, Amelia Meredith, Samantha Kieser, Nicholas Kieser, Mariana Kieser, and Parker Kieser.
