Carl Eugene Baer, 85, of Frostburg passed away Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Sterling Care of Frostburg with his family by his side.
Born July 9, 1938, in Greenville, PA to the late Ralph and Margaret (Orner) Baer. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Delores (Bittinger) Baer; brother, Robert Baer, brother Ralph Baer Jr. (Cubby), twin sister, Carol McKenzie and sister, Anna Mae Hochard.
Carl was a Medic WWII U.S. Army veteran during the Berlin Crisis; retired from Kaiser Refactories and was a self-employed contractor. He was a member of Greenville Lutheran Church, a lifetime member of the Frostburg Eagles and Farrady Post American Legion #24. Carl was best known for being a musician beginning in the early 70's spanning decades thereafter. The most memorable was playing in the band, "The Sounds of Country".
Surviving are his daughter, Carla M. Frazee and husband Scott; son, Stephen Baer and wife Beth; grandchildren, Taylor M. Frazee, Tylor S. Frazee, Stephen L. Baer and wife Kelsey and their new son Rilee who was a light in Carl's eyes. Also surviving is a sister Linda Arnold and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 10:00 am at Durst Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Jeffries officiating.
Interment will be in Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery.
