Carl Basile

Carl Basile age 90 of Westover passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Carl was born November 17, 1932 in Maidsville a son of the late Giovanni Basile and Catherine Oliverio Basile.
Carl was a United States Navy veteran serving during the Korean War and was then employed as a purchasing agent prior to his retirement.
Carl enjoyed raising and tending his vegetable garden and was a wonderful cook, who was well known for his delicious meatballs. He also was a very skilled poker player who loved listening to polka music.
Carl is survived by his daughter, Carla (Michael) Comer of Fairmont, his son Michael (Amelia) Basile of Pittsburgh, grandchildren, Bryen and Braden Comer and Joseph and Mason Basile; and a special niece, Katie Oney of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife Mary Theresa Bartolo Basile and one sister Angie Halcik.

Friends may call at McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover from 5-7 pm Friday, July 7th, and at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1 Guthrie Lane Morgantown on Saturday from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial.
