CARL BROOKS, SR.
ABBEVILLE… Carl Brooks, Sr., a resident of Abbeville, Alabama, passed away early Saturday morning, May 31, 2025, at a Dothan hospital. He was 76.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Sunday at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Apostle Gloria King officiating. Burial will follow in the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Brooks was born in Henry County, Alabama, to the late Johnny Brooks and Pearline Hardge Brooks. He had lived in Abbeville most of his lifetime. He was a graduate of the Henry County Training School. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Carl was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Vera Mae Brooks.
Leaving to cherish his memories are children, Richard Brooks, Carl Brooks, Jr., Timothy Brooks (Stephanie), Cynthia Brooks, Latonya Brooks, Kenyetta Brooks, Maurice Brooks, and Shaterra Brooks; his fifteen grandchildren; his 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Carl Brooks, Jr., Jamal Mills, Arthur Richardson, Keith Mills, Jeremy Price, and Johnny Mills.
