Carl Buckner Obituary

He was born June 3, 1959 to Allie Mauren Buckner and Carl Buckner Sr. He was the second of ten children.
Carl was a lifetime resident of Fulton. He graduated from Fulton Senior High in 1977. Carl accepted Jesus Christ in his life and was a longtime member of the First Christian Church in Fulton, Mo. He held numerous jobs such as McDonalds, China Palace, and then Dairy Queen until his retirement. Carl loved the entire Fulton Community, but most of all loved spending time with his family.
Carl was honored as the Grand Marshall of the Fulton Christmas Parade in 2016. He was always willing to help others, and never turned down an opportunity to help with events involving his beloved community. He stepped up in numerous volunteer positions, especially those during the annual Fulton Street Fair. He had a love for making people smile and his kind demeanor and positive outlook will be deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Carl is survived by his mother, Allie Buckner; father, Carl Buckner; brothers, Charles Buckner (Bennetta), Cecil Buckner, Steven Buckner (LaTisha), Thomas Buckner; sisters, Deborah Buckner, Doris Floyd (Jerry), Regina Buckner Ingram (Gerard), and Stephanie Buckner; aunt, Patricia Hall, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Allie and Howard Beard and Dorothy and Grover Buckner; sister, Patricia Beard; aunts, Grace McBride, Blanche Kemp, Barbara Warren; uncles, Howard Beard, and Clyde Buckner.
Funeral services will be held at the First Christian Church on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Will Ryan Officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will be held at Southside Cemetery in Fulton, Mo.
Repass will be at First Christian Church following the Burial.
Memorial donations can be made to Maupin Funeral for the family c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Blvd. Fulton, MO 65251.

Carl was always kind and a joyful giver. He always helped with our children and recently grandchildren while at the church. Often bringing them a small gift or treat. He helped at many fellowship dinners. I always enjoyed hearing Carl and Noel tease each other. We are so thankful God placed Carl in our lives. We will miss him and know we will meet again. Our sympathy to his family and we pray God grants you many fond memories as you navigate this challenging time.
