Carl Dean Cain, 92, of Logansport, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Aperion Care Kokomo. 

Carl was born January 31, 1932, in Peru, Indiana to the late James Robert Cain and Mary Mable (Lewis) Cain. He was a graduate of Peru High School where there after he enlisted into the United States Air Force. Carl retired as a Forward Air Controller for Grissom Air Force Base, gaining the rank of Master Sargent before his retirement. While in the Air Force Carl received three Purple Hearts.

Surviving Carl is his daughter Loretta (Gabriel) Quaglio of Camden, IN; two grandsons, Zachary Cain of Steele, MO, and James Dean Cain, of MO; granddaughter, Mindy (Josh) Guilford of Logansport, IN; several great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.

Proceeding him are two sons, Charles D. Cain and Carl Derek Cain, and his first wife, Jo Ann (Lovvorn) Cain.

Family and friends are welcome to attend visitation from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with the service starting at 1:00 pm, Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Gundrum Funeral Home with Chaplain Dennis Chapman officiating. A burial will be held, at a later date, in Mount Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pets-R-US/Cass County Humane Society or Howard County Vietnam Veterans Organization in Carl’s honor. 

A Veterans service will be held prior to his funeral service by the Cass County Honor Guard.
