CARL LEE CERTAIN
2/25/1959-5/11/2024
Carl Lee Certain passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the age of 65. Lee was a highly respected man who loved his family, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Southern Rock. He loved being from, and living in, Tennessee; his favorite greeting was "ain't it good to be alive and to be in Tennessee ". He was a master mechanic and an all around jack-of-all-trades. He loved fixing things and building things, especially if it meant helping others. He was a much-loved husband, son, father, grandfather, and friend. Lee is survived by his wife Cathy Certain; his children, Rachel (Jimmy) Hill and Carl Lee (Deanna) Certain II; and his grandchildren, Kinlee Hill, Oliver Hill, and Ryder Certain; his parents Ernest Eugene and Linda Thompson; his brothers, Tommie Thompson and Victor Certain; his sisters, Toni Thompson and Lori (Donald) Franks; his aunts, Valerie Smith and Faye Ryan; and many, many nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends. Lee was preceded in death by his father, Tom Certain, and his dearly loved grandparents and great-grandparents. A private memorial with the family will be held soon. In lieu of flowers or donations Lee would want those who loved him to remember him through his family, his music, his little acts of kindness, his love for others, and through the beauty of the world that surrounds us. So maybe you would like to plant a tree or a flower that would remind you of Lee and your own special times with him. Lee will truly be missed by all who loved him and will be in our hearts forever!
