Carl Clausen Obituary

He was married to Janice Eckholt (later divorced) and had two children, David Clausen and Dawn Deuel. Carl had a brother Donald Clausen, and sister Teresa Kacalski, and shared Patti's children, Bo and Randy Pace.
Carl served in the U.S. Navy from 1966, until honorably discharged in 1970.
Carl worked at Potlatch Forest Products, in Lewiston, on the paper machine and in the powerhouse for over 25 years.
Carl had a cabin at Cave Bay, in Kootenai County, where he enjoyed swimming, boating and water skiing on Lake Coeur d'Alene, with family and friends ever present.
He married Patti Clausen in 1991; they were married for 12 years before Patti's passing in 2003.
Survivors include his two children: David and Jody Clausen; daughter: Dawn Deuel and Mike Layson; Patti's children: Bo and Randy Pace; close family friends: Dean and Kelley Valpey; six grandchildren: Lindsey Chavez, Jamie Deuel, both from Coeur d'Alene; and Andrea Tretneff, Missy Stamadis, Dianna Clausen and Jessica Clausen, all of Queen Creek, Ariz. Carl has several great-grandchildren as well. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Teresa Kacalski; and wife Patti Clausen.
A celebration of life for Carl will be scheduled in January at the Lewiston VFW hall.

Cousin Carl... you always had great funny stories to share about Kelly and Danny ...and growing up as cousins that kept us laughing , a big warm bear hug to give that made us feel loved!! Thank you for all the love and laughter! You are deeply missed!

Being nine years younger than my brother Dan and my cousin Carl, for me, Carl was like a gentle giant and the right guy to have around when you got in trouble. Between those two guys, I always had a safe harbor for sure. That said, thank God I could run faster than those two when they were pissed at me. Carl, thanks for all the fun times, and the great fishing trip to Kodiak!! You will never be forgotten and missed immensely. Cousin Kelly
