Carl Jackson Darke, 87, of Northfield, Ohio passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025. He was born in West Decatur, Pennsylvania on May 20, 1937 to the late Andrew and Cleo Darke (nee Harkless). Carl was preceded in death by his twin sister Carol Darke, his first wife Marlene Darke and his son Keith Darke.
Carl is survived by his beloved second wife of 24 years, Kathleen H. Darke. Loving father of Nicole Darke and stepfather of Kristen Liotta (Chris), Lori (Patrick) Diulus and Diana (Randy) Murphy. Cherished grandfather of Samantha (James) Carson, Manny Liotta, Anthony Liotta, Brian (Amber) Diulus, Brandon (Emily) Diulus, Nicholas Diulus, Shawn (Stephanie) Murphy, Steven Murphy (deceased) and great-grandfather of Madeline Murphy and Austin Murphy. Dear brother-in-law of Frank Spiker and Donald Spiker, Jr. (deceased) and beloved cousin and friend to many.
Carl was in the U.S. Marine Corp. where he proudly served his country. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved cheering on Penn State, Boston Red Sox and the Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed playing bingo, attending Bible Study life group and always loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He devoted his life to his family, friends, and the Lord. Though he may no longer be with us in person, his love, guidance, and beautiful spirit will remain with us always. It has been a true blessing to have him in our lives.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Crown Hill Cemetery, 8592 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio. A luncheon and celebration of life will immediately follow the service at Twinhaven Reception Center, 10439 Ravenna Road, Twinsburg, Ohio.
