Carl Wayne Evans, age 63, of London, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Mary Jane Brown Evans; five children, Jennifer Hall of Johnson City, TN, Matthew Wayne Evans of Kannapolis, NC, Dylan Evans & wife Emily of London, KY, Dakota Evans of London, KY, Carley Evans of London, KY; two grandchildren, Isabella Colon, Hailey Hall; six siblings, Margie Green of Charlotte, NC, Fonniel Henderson of Charlotte, NC, Loretta Howard of London, KY, Joyce Tallent of London, KY, Charles Evans of Orlando, FL, Jaqueline Jones of London, KY; plus a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends to cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maynard Dewey Evans & Sylvia Jane McGee Evans; five siblings, Ruby Zimmerman, James Evans, Marvin Evans, Dewey Evans, Lee Evans; two grandchildren, Kenneth Ramsey, Dylan & Emily's Baby Evans.
Wayne was one of a kind-a true original who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Known for his quick wit, love of a good prank, and ability to pick, prod, and scare just about anyone for a laugh, Wayne made it his mission to keep life interesting. He was a proud smart aleck, always aggravating folks in the most lovable way-and always showing up fashionably late while doing it.
Wayne had a gift for talking-once he got going, you weren't getting away from him easy. But that's part of what made him unforgettable. He was a loyal Dale Earnhardt NASCAR fan, a die-hard UK Basketball supporter, and a father who loved his children fiercely.
A true jokester and prankster with a big heart, Wayne brought laughter, life, and love wherever he went. His memory will live on in the stories told, the laughs shared, and the hearts he touched.
A funeral service honoring Carl Wayne Evans will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home in London, Kentucky with Glen Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the service hour, also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
