Carl Windell Grace, Jr., 76, of Huntsville, OH, formerly of Columbus, OH, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Mary Rutan Hospital Emergency Department, Bellefontaine, OH.
Carl was born on November 12, 1949, in Columbus, OH, a son of the late Carl W. and Dorothy (Neal) Grace, Sr.
Carl married Wanda L. Woerner Grace on May 28, 2004, and she survives. Carl is also survived by three children, Carl Edward Grace, Sunya Grace, and Samantha Grace, four grandchildren, Joey Grace, Brandon Cordova, Kasie Grace, and Natalie Heflin, four great grandchildren, Eli Grace, Ella Grace, Jaxon Grace, and Addison Grace, stepdaughter, Kendra (Wally) Parsley, two stepsons, Kevin (Robin Baird) Parsley, and Joseph Harvey, three step grandchildren,Joshua (Rheann) Turner, Sylvia Harvey, and Vivian Harvey, five step-great grandchildren, Robert Turner, Ronnie Turner, Royden Turner, Roland Turner, and Rosali Turner, five sisters, Carol Hinton, Bonnie Springer, Linda (Ken) Redman, Ruth (Marvin) Sparks, and Karen (Steve) Waugh, brothers/sisters-in-law, Beverly Carlisle, Tom Woerner, Dan (Terri) Woerner, and Angela (Mark) Woerner and several nieces and nephews.
Carl attended Hilliard High School. He was known as Jake to his family and friends, nicknamed after his grandfather. Jake began working at an early age in construction and retired as a pipefitter. Many of his jobs he chose consisted of laying pipe in deep trenches or underground. Jake loved football and was faithful fan of the Cleveland Browns. Jake had a big sweet tooth and enjoyed his candy bars. He enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with pets and family.
Funeral services will begin at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St, Lakeview with visitation from 1-3 pm. Graveside services will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 East Broad Street, Columbus, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Carl's memory may be given to a local Humane Society of the donor's choice.
