Carl Bruce Gregory, 84, of O'Fallon, IL, born on January 28, 1941, in Needles, CA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at his home.
A lifelong sports lover, Carl enjoyed football and golf, but he was a dedicated St. Louis Cardinals baseball and NASCAR racing fan. He also loved restoring old cars. Carl was very kind-hearted and giving, doing anything he could for others who needed help. Serving as a father figure to many, people often came to Carl for advice.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mary Gregory (nee Standridge); and his brother, Robert Gregory.
Left to cherish Carl's memory are his beloved wife, Patricia "Pat" Gregory (nee Prater) of O'Fallon, IL; two children, Stacy Gregory, Christina "Christy" Cooper; two sisters, Mary Sue Evans, Ellen Jane Bourassa; three grandchildren, Nikki Zuber, Kayla Smith, Kyle Smith; and one great-grandson, Ethen Zuber.
Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children; https://www.shrinerschildrens.org. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.schildknechtfh.com.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., at Schildknecht Funeral Home; 301 S. Lincoln Ave., O'Fallon, IL 62269, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m., Pastor Marty Deroche officiating.
Burial with full military honors will take place on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at O'Fallon City Cemetery; N. Oak St., O'Fallon, IL 62269.
Arrangements have been made by Schildknecht Funeral Home.
