Carl Ray Holland, 86, of Atkins, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025. He was born on March 23, 1939, in Russellville, Arkansas, to the late Alvin and Mae Holland.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Carol Wayne Holland, and an infant brother, William Kenneth Holland.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary Janan White Holland; his sons, Jeff (Teresa) Holland and Mark (Cara) Holland; his sister, Peggy (Jay) Alexander; his grandchildren, Nathan (Angela) Holland, Devin (Elizabeth) Holland, Ashley Holland, Colby (Laura) Holland, and Kyle (Bethany) Holland; and great-grandchildren Abby (Landon) Lenderman, Bailey Holland; Madi and Liam Holland; Lincoln and Emliya Holland; Atlas and Mack Holland; Ava, Alaina, and Riggs Harvill.
Carl attended Pottsville High School and went on to build a life of hard work and dedication as both an auto body serviceman and a long-haul truck driver. He also spent many years as the owner and operator of C&C Auto Salvage in Pottsville, Arkansas. Known for his skill with his hands and determined spirit, Carl never met a broken thing he didn't think he could fix.
In his younger years, Carl raced stock cars at Centerville Speedway where he and his #21 car were dubbed the nickname "Hoppy" for the bouncing rear wheels that came from his fearless driving style. He was later awarded the title for the most rollover crashes at the track - a badge of honor he wore with pride.
Carl found joy in the outdoors-fishing, hunting, and camping-but above all, he loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. He was endlessly proud of his family and left behind a legacy of strength, love, laughter and quiet wisdom. Later in life Carl found a renewed peace and comfort in his relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Visitation with the family will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 22, 2025, with a celebration of Carl's life at 11:00 AM, in Humphrey Funeral Chapel in Russellville, with Rev. Bob Holland officiating. Burial to follow at Pisgah Cemetery in Pottsville, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Holland, Devin Holland, Ashley Holland, Colby Holland, Kyle Holland, James Alvin Alexander.
Honorary Pallbearers: Charles Carothers, Junior Clayton, Edwin Gullett, Don Pelt, and Larry Taylor.
The family asks that memorials be made to Hospice Home Care, 2301 East Main Street, Suite 110, Russellville, AR 72802, whose care and compassion brought great comfort in Carl's final days. A special thanks to the kindness and compassion of their special neighbors Scott & Sonya Jones, Edwin Gullett, and Charlie Miliken.
