Carl Tab Kirkpatrick has taken the last exit ramp on the great highway in the sky on August 13, 2025, in Brenham, Texas. Born in Anderson, Indiana, on November 19th, 1971, Carl's journey began with a roar and not a whimper, destined to leave tire tracks on the hearts of all who knew him.

A graduate of the School of Hard Knocks and Busted Knuckles, Carl's education didn't come from textbooks, but from the grease under his fingernails and the calluses on his hands.

Carl worked as a long-time pool plumber & landscaper (alongside the legendary Keith) and box truck delivery driver, but his true passion was the custom motorized bicycles he built in the tiny living room of his apartment, much to the chagrin of his downstairs neighbors.

Carl's love for bicycles, motorcycles, and fast cars was only matched by his love for long back road drives, biking on nature trails, and rocking out to music that could shake the lug nuts off a rim.

He was the kind of guy who could identify the make and model of a car just by a glimpse from three blocks away and knew the words, band, & song name to every late-night jam-out session he had with his son Forrest.

His son, Forrest K. Kirkpatrick, and daughter, Rhianna N. Kirkpatrick, inherited their dad's wild spirit and gentle soul (and love of LOUD music).

The love of Carl's life, Callie M. Larsen, was his constant co-pilot and the brakes to his gasoline, always riding shotgun as they cruised the back roads.

They shared a love that was as enduring as a vintage car and as exciting as a drag race.

Describing Carl as kind, adventurous, and gentle doesn't quite do him justice. He was the man who would pull over to help a stranger change a tire in a rainstorm, give a kid his first bicycle, and spend hours teaching them how to use it. His storytelling was legendary & his heart was as big as a chicken fried steak from Sudi's in Pasadena (gravy on the side please).

As we say goodbye to Carl Tab Kirkpatrick, remember him not with sadness but with a smile. Let's not mourn the miles he didn't travel but celebrate the incredible journey he had. Put your foot through the floorboard one last time for Carl; he wouldn't have it any other way.
