Carl "Frank" Maness, 82, of Sycamore, IL, died Tuesday, June 17, 2025, peacefully at his home.
Born on December 18, 1942, at Sycamore Hospital, Frank Maness was the son of Carl Maness Sr. and Madelyn (Rohde) Maness. Together with Cheryl (Lampkins) Maness, he had two children: Scott and Bradley. Frank worked at Ideal Industries in Sycamore for 43 years, from 1962 until his retirement in 2005.
Frank was a simple man with a tight circle of friends. He had a great sense of humor and was a big jokester. He loved Corvettes and RC model air planes. Back in the day, you'd find him working on cars or fishing at the Rotary Park in Sycamore.
Frank is survived by his children, Bradley (Lindsay) Maness of Wyanet, IL and Scott (Basia Surma) Maness of Lakemoor, IL; grandchildren, Zack and Kyle; sister, LaVerna Grady; sister-in-law, Mary Maness; nephews, John (Trysha) Maness and Jacob (Marie) Grady; and several great-nieces, -nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Gary "Wayne" Maness; and brother-in-law, Homer Grady.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family for a fund to be established.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Derek, Stephanie, and Bentley Swanson for their unwavering love and care for Frank throughout the years.
Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 pm Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Olson's Quiram Sycamore Chapel, 1245 Somonauk St., Sycamore, IL 60178.
