Carl Cecil McClary, age 78, of Mt. Sterling, Ohio passed away peacefully in his wife's arms on August 28, 2024. He was born on August 13, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Harry and Doris McClary.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry McClary and Harry McClary Jr, his sister-in-law, Mary McClary, his brother-in-laws, Carlos Jeffrey and Paul White, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Douglas Jeffrey and Lorean Jeffrey.
He is lovingly survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley McClary, his daughters, Jeanette (Jimmie) Cossin and Candy (Greg) Priestas, six grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, his siblings, William McClary and Nancy Sasfy, his sister-in-laws, Pauline White, Mary Jeffrey, Barbara Clay, Hannah McClary and Joanne McClary, his brother-in-laws, Eugene Jeffrey, Jerry Jeffrey, and Douglas (Janie) Jeffrey Jr, and lots of nieces and nephews.
He was the Buffalo Bills #1 biggest fan and also Ohio State. He liked to fish and he loved boating. He was a proud member of American Legion Post #417.
He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations to his wife, Shirley to help cover funeral expenses.
