Carl Michael Murphy, 65, passed away Wednesday morning, June 15, 2022 at Waters Edge Village Nursing Home in Muncie.
He was born November 17,1956, the son of Barbara Reeves and step father Howard Reeves. Carl attended Delta High School and obtained his GED from the United States Army. Carl entered the U.S. Air Force in 1977 and the U.S. Army in 1978.
Carl began working for the carnival at age 17, living in Georgia and Florida. He returned to Muncie in the 1980's and worked as a cook for over 25 years, and as a pollster for many elections.
Carl was an avid fisherman and fished every chance he could. He also enjoyed bowling and listening to classic rock music. Carl had a beautiful singing voice.
Carl donated his wheelchair and many of his belongings to various veteran's organizations and Waters Edge Village residents.
He is survived by his two half-sisters, Rhonda Reeves, and Toni; nieces, Denise (Ryan) Campbell and Rachelle (Nicholas) Davis; and a brother-in-law, Dennis Vest.
Mr. Murphy was preceded in death by his sister, Tina Vest; his parents, Barbara and Howard Reeves; and grandparents, Worley and Lillie Murphy, and Robert and Gertrude Williams.
Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.
Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 5:00 pm until service time at 6:00 pm.
