On February 28, 2025, Carl Donald Nix peacefully passed away, surrounded by love, after a brief battle with cancer. While his time on earth has come to an end, his legacy of love, laughter, and dedication lives on in the hearts of those who knew him.Carl proudly served his country as a Master Sergeant in the Georgia Air National Guard, a career that reflected his deep sense of duty and honor. In retirement, he embraced life fully, finding joy on the golf course, cheering on the Atlanta Braves, watching classic movies, and filling his home with the sounds of his favorite music.Above all, Carl was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Barbara Nix, and together they built a beautiful family. He is lovingly remembered by his children: Pam and Mark Sanders, Donnie and Melanie Nix, and Casey and Sabrina Nix.Known affectionately as "Pop", he was proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: Andrea Sanders, Josh Nix and his wife Katey, Kaleigh Nix, Kyle Sanders and his wife Amanda, Jake Nix and his wife Sozo, Chase Nix, and Savannah Nix. His love and wisdom will also live on through his two great-grandsons, Deacon and Lincoln Sanders.Carl's life was one well-lived, full of love, laugher, and cherished memories. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will forever be a guiding presence for his family and friends. As we celebrate his life, we remember the kindness, strength, and warmth he shared with everyone around him.Rest easy, Pop - your love and legacy will never fade
