Carl E. Ostling

In loving memory of our father, Carl Eric Ostling, who passed away on December 3, 2022, with his family by his side at the age of 91. He was a devoted husband and loving father. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty, his son Eric and daughter Cindy, and three grandchildren, Carl, Jessica and Amanda and great-granddaughter Mia.
In 1953, Carl met Betty, the love of his life and they wed in 1954. For Carl, it was love at first sight and he knew immediately he had met the woman he wanted as his wife. They would have celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary in January.
Dad was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. He was the type of person who would choose to repair something over buying a new one. He was willing to help anyone who pulled into his driveway. He didn't consider anyone a friend – they were family, and he loved each and every one of them. He valued hard work, honesty, and the value of a man's word. Although he didn't attend church, he was a man of strong faith and he taught us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. Our father was a true role model who we will always look up to. Anyone who knew dad knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for.
We mourn the loss of our father and encourage any and all who knew him to remember the beauty he brought to this world. For any interested, a visitation will be held from 10am-Noon on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 immediately followed by a funeral service at Noon at Hardesty Funeral Home, 851 Annapolis Road, Gambrills, Maryland 21054.
Dad, you are now at peace, but you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
