Carl Rodney Roush

Carl Rodney Roush was born on March 4, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan and peacefully transitioned at his home in Gibraltar, Michigan on January 16, 2025.
Carl enjoyed a very active lifestyle and was known as an avid golfer, bowler, swimmer, boater, and car enthusiast. He always looked forward to his next trip, whether traveling abroad on business, boating with the Grosse Ile Power Squadron, taking RV trips with family, or heading South for the winter. Following an esteemed 40-year career at Ford Motor Company, Carl retired and filled his "golden years" with family, hobbies, and adventure. Never one to sit still, Carl was always up before the sun, coffee in hand, ready to walk the dog, go for a bike ride, play nine holes, or fuss over his hand-picked retirement present; his beloved red Corvette. He enjoyed rooting for all his hometown Detroit sports teams, especially from the stands. He valued hard work, practiced gratitude for everything he had, and took great pride in maintaining and caring for those things. Carl had a special place in his heart for dogs and cherished his duties as a devoted dog dad and dog grandpa.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Linda K. Roush (nee Schonsheck); children Carolyn (Michael "Bic") Wagner, Linda A. Roush, Alex Carey, and Carla (Chris) Budny; grandchildren Michael (Emily) Wagner, and Ella Budny; and great-grandchildren.
