Elaine Joyce Carter

Elaine Joyce Carter, age 84, of Romulus, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025.
Born on October 23, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of Walter and Helen (Malecki) Guzik. On September 24, 1960, she married James L. Carter at St. Alfred Church in Taylor, Michigan.
Elaine was self-employed as a child care provider for many years, caring for many children with patience and kindness. She enjoyed flower gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, and decorating-especially for the holidays, which she loved making special for her family. In her earlier years, she also enjoyed sewing and crafting. She appreciated the simple things in life and found joy in creating a warm and welcoming home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Carter, who passed away in April of 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, when traditional services could not be held.
Elaine is survived by her children, Michael (Ann) Carter, Michele Koromos, and Robin Pousak; her grandchildren, Marcus Carter, Kelly Carpenter, April Koromos, and Zachary Shults; her great-grandchildren, Carter Noe, Paislee Carpenter, Henry Carter, Lilly Carter, Dean Carter, and Ember Carter; and her sisters, Joann Renner and Barbara Sylvester.
To honor Elaine and the passing of her beloved James, a Visitation and Gathering of Remembrance will take place at Bobcean Funeral Home - Flat Rock Chapel on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery in Brownstown Township, Michigan.
