Catherine Carter, 69, affectionately known as, "Cathy", passed away on November 12, 2025, at Alpine Breeze Health & Wellness, in Raytown, Missouri. She was born November 17, 1955, in Kirkwood, Missouri to Rufus Ousley Jr. and Marie (Gary) Ousley.
Catherine grew up in Kirkwood, Missouri. She graduated from Excelsior Springs Job Corps Center in Excelsior Springs, Missouri with her GED. She began work for Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri, as a Unit Secretary, where she worked for 15 years.
Catherine married Willie Griffin Carter Jr. on July 10, 1979 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They were happily married for 46 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Marie Ousley, and family members as followed: Annie Ruth Ousley, John Lee Hudson, Steve Ousley, Issac Ousley, Jessie Herns, Mammie Holly, and Ka’Von Carter.
Left to cherish Catherine’s memory: her husband, Willie Carter; her daughters, Clara Carter and JoAnn Carter; her sisters, Evelyn Ousley and Irene Johnson; five grandchildren: Jordan Carter, JuJuan Fleming, Catherine Carter, Jewell Davis and Ayona Carter; seven great grandchildren: Christopher Rogers, Kha’Von West, Jordan Carter Jr., Lavelle Carter, Julianna Davis, Jourinee Tolefree and Lymyah Carter, and a host of other loving family and friends.
