Charles R. Carter

Charles R. "Chuck" Carter, age 91, of Wickliffe, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 23, 2025.
Born on April 29, 1934, Chuck grew up in Strange Creek, West Virginia, where he learned the value of hard work, resourcefulness, and family-traits that remained at the heart of his life. As a determined young man, he hitchhiked to Cleveland in search of opportunity and soon found steady work with Elwell Parker Electric Company, where he dedicated 45 years of loyal service.
Chuck lived a full and active life. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, and spending countless hours tinkering in his garage. Whether he was fixing something around the house or crafting his own solutions, he was happiest with a tool in his hand and a project in front of him. He also loved to joke and gently tease those around him, bringing laughter and lighthearted moments to family and friends.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Donna, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage; his children, son Douglas and his wife Mary Beth, daughter Charlene and her husband Steve; and his daughter-in-law Dee, wife of his late son Charles Jr. He was a proud grandfather to Chuck (Carley), Dylan, Douglas, Brian, Kyle, Kasey, Kaleb, Kiera, Kameron, and Kaitlin, and a cherished great-grandfather to Lennox, Harlow, and Genesis.
He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, quick wit, strong work ethic, and the many ways he showed love through the things he built, fixed, and cared for. His legacy lives on in the family who loved him dearly.
The family will receive friends on Monday December 1, 2025 from 6-8 PM at Brickman Bros. Funeral Home, 37433 Euclid Avenue in Willoughby, as well as on Tuesday morning from 11 AM -12 PM, before processing to Willoughby Memorial Gardens Cemetery for the burial.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve in Chuck's memory.
