Born on April 7, 1942, he was the son of William Fashing and Josephine (Majka) Fashing. On November 26, 1967, he married Jennifer Hattan in Elyria, Ohio.
He was employed as a history and art teacher at Grosse Ile Township Schools and also worked as a realtor until his retirement.
William was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, fixing things, crafts, bargain hunting, U of M football, and reading.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved Jennifer.
He is survived by his son, Christopher (Robyn) Fashing of Lebanon, Ohio; daughter, Tracy Fashing of Trenton, Michigan; brother, Norman (Joyce) Fashing of Garrettsville, Ohio; extended family, Arthur (Nancy) Hattan of Tipp City, Ohio, Ken (Wendy) Hattan of Miamisburg, Ohio, and Patty (John) Buhrman of Beavercreek, Ohio; and his canine companion, Piper.
Visitation will be held at Bobcean Funeral Home, Flat Rock Chapel, on Monday, November 17, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Roch Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 11:30 a.m. Cremation will follow.
A Luncheon will be held immediately following the Funeral Mass at:

In lieu of flowers, contributions in William's memory may be made to Grosse Ile Township Schools.
