Norman William Sanders

Norman (Norm) William Sanders age 90 of Harrison, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. Norman was born September 30, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan the son of Mary (Post) Sanders and Sam Sanders. Norm was united in marriage to Ms. Sharon May Connell on July 26, 1952 in Wayne, Michigan. Sharon preceded Norm in death on March 22, 2022 after sixty-nine years of marriage.
Mr. Sanders had resided in Harrison since 1989, moving from Westland, Michigan. Norm retired from Wayne County Road Commission after thirty plus years of dedicated service as a bridge supervisor. Norm was a long-time member of Harrison Moose Lodge and Family Center #2235. Norm was very passionate about grooming his yard as well as the road leading into his neighborhood. He spent many years assisting his neighbors with their pontoon prep for winter and spring. He enjoyed taking pontoon rides, deer hunting, poker nights, visiting various casinos, dining at the Great Wall Buffet, watching and cheering for the Detroit Tigers, watching the Game Show channel and was a fan of John Wayne.
Norm is survived by his loving daughter, Cheryl Holloway and husband Dave of Westland, daughter-in-law, Mary Sanders of Garden City, Michigan, ten loving grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one brother, Robert Sanders of Rogers City, Michigan, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Norm also was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Larry Sanders, an infant sister, Betty and one sister-in-law, Norma Sanders.
A time of visitation for Norm will take place on Monday, October 27, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Bobcean Funeral Home, 26307 East Huron Drive, Flat Rock, Michigan 48134 (734-782-2755). Cemetery services will be held immediately following visitation at 3:00 p.m. from Cadillac Memorial Gardens West, 34334 Ford Road, Westland, Michigan, 48185. Memorial gifts in memory of Norm may be considered to the Sanders Family, in care of: Mrs. Cheryl Holloway.
