Born on October 23, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of Raymond and Shirley (Roberts) Konopka. On November 18, 1983 he married the love of his life,Yvette New, in Detroit, Michigan.
With extraordinary work ethic, for over 30 years, Ralph faithfully provided for his family with a career in the trucking industry. Reluctantly, he retired in 2008 due to medical issues. A self proclaimed "poor boy from the ghetto", Ralph was much more an observer than a talker. He loved his family more than anything. Whether it be summer hangouts by the pool, staying home and having a couple "cool ones" with his bride, or having his wife, children, and grandkids all together under one roof.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, David Konopka and John Konopka.
He is survived by his wife, Yvette Konopka, children, Adam E. (Nikki) Konopka, Erica Ashley-Lyne (Jeremy) Ratliff, grandchildren, Gavin, Adasyn, Gage, Jordyn, Gracen, Brady, sisters, Patricia (David) Heskett, Julie (Mitch) Tackett, & best friend, Phill Roberts.
A Celebration of Ralph's Life will be held at a later date.
