Carl Eugene Samons

Carl Eugene Samons, 52, of Wapakoneta, died Sunday, July 13, 2025, at his home. He was born December 5, 1972, in Lima, OH, the son of the Carl Gene and Lennie Ann (Scott) Samons, who preceded him in death.

Survivors include 2 children, Kevin Anthony Samons, Germany, Michelle Christine Samons, Wapakoneta; 2 grandchildren, Arabella and Finn; siblings, Charles William Samons, Wapakoneta, Christopher Allan (Bonnie) Samons, Lima, Elva Louise ""Missy"" (Robert) Cotrell, Lima.

Carl was owner and operator of Pilot Car Security Service. He was a decorated U.S. Army veteran, and served in Germany, Desert Storm and Bosnia. He was the recipient of Army Achievement Award, the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Southeast Asia Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star, Kosovo Campaign Medal, the Army Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Ribbon. A graduate of Shawnee High School, Carl was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #691, Wapakoneta. He lived out loud with a booming laugh, an open heart and an immense pride for his kids and family. He was a dreamer, an artist, and a collector of movies and music. Carl loved to travel and tell stories to anyone who had the time to listen.

A Celebration of Carl's life will be held at a later date and his cremated remains will be interred at the National Cemetery, Dayton, OH. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Disabled American Veterans.
