Carl M. "Mike" Teagarden, age 82 passed away on July 13, 2025 (1942-2025) He was a beloved father, grandfather, husband, friend and mentor. Many called him Poppa T! He was a gentle soul, patient, and kindhearted, loved by many.
Mike was a pastor and part of the Pastor’s Council at The River Valley Life Center, Lancaster, Ohio, for the past seventeen years. He has pastored and established several churches, including a Christian Coffee House over his 62 years in ministry. Mike had a fervent passion to help restore marriages and families and also had a heart for missions. Mike and his wife, Cindy, adventured out of the country to carry the healing power of the Holy Spirit.
Mike loved to scuba dive and had some extraordinary experiences he loved to share with those who would listen. He enjoyed the great outdoors, his ducks, swimming, and hiking, and loved to find a sweet treat on the way home.
Mike attended Kentucky Christian University for Ministry where he played basketball and sang in the traveling quartet.
Mike is survived by his wife Cindy, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is survived by his children; Beth (Rik) Bair of Shelbyville, Tennessee, Jill (John) Lanning of Zanesville, Ohio, Dee (Jack) Davis of Zanesville, Ohio, Michael Teagarden of Shelbyville, Tennessee, Carla Dyer of Zanesville, Ohio, Fredrick (Kateryna) Zimmerman Jr. of Athens, Ohio, grandchildren; Cinnamon Bair, Andrew, Isaac and Oliver Lanning, Mason and Sophia Davis, Sydney and Carrie Teagarden, Ethan and Rebekah Dyer and Madison Taylor Zimmerman.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Harold and Dorothy Leanna Teagarden and his brother John Patrick Teagarden.
A Celebration of Life and Honor will be held on Monday, July 21st, at 11:00 a.m. at The River Valley Life Center, 2190 Coonpath Rd., NW, Lancaster, Ohio with Pastor Paul Bishop and David Kiner officiating. Family and friends may visit 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Caring Cremation® has taken place the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, LANCASTER, OHIO.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to River Global Missions, 2190 Coonpath Rd., NW, Lancaster, Ohio 43130 in Mike’s memory.
