Carl Lee Waller, 68, of Pilot Grove, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove.
He was born on September 21, 1957, in Boonville, MO, a son of Carl E. and Adell (Lindsley) Waller.
Carl Lee was a proud 1975 graduate of Pilot Grove High School. On August 7, 1976, he was united in marriage to Nancy Joan Kammerich at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clear Creek. Their marriage was blessed with many years of love and partnership and four children until Nancy preceded him in death on October 26, 2004. The bond they shared remained a guiding light in Carl Lee’s life.
For many years, Carl Lee dedicated his hard work and steady presence to the Pilot Grove Co-op, where he formed lasting friendships and earned the respect of his coworkers and area farmers. A man deeply rooted in his community and faith; he was a member of the Pilot Grove Range Riders, and a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove. He also faithfully served as president of the St. John the Baptist Cemetery Board, taking great pride in caring for the sacred grounds that meant so much to so many families.
Carl Lee had a true love for the western way of life, and found joy in rodeos, bull riding, grilling and cooking for everyone, dancing, and spending time on the farm.
Above all, Carl Lee cherished his family. Nothing brought him greater happiness than the time he spent with his grandchildren. Their laughter, stories, and milestones were the treasures of his life, and he took every opportunity to be present for them.
Survivors include four children, Kathryn Waller (Roy Helm), Amanda Rentel (Russell), Teresa Zeller (Justin), and Carl Joseph Waller (Adrienne) all of Pilot Grove; nine grandchildren, Weston and Owen Rentel, Hank, Nadeen, and Elliott Zeller, Milly, Emmett, and Quincy Waller, and Serenity Shipman; his lady friend, Janet Shipman; seven siblings, Jack Huggins, Connie Goffinet, Randy (Carolyn) Kammerich, Diane Kammerich, Peggy Kammerich, Rachel Kammerich, and Kevin Kammerich (Renee); and bonus children, Annie Lea Dick (Jason), Rob Shipman (Jesse), and Tim Shipman (Nikkita); and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to both of his parents and his wife Nancy, Carl Lee was preceded in death by eight siblings, Ralph Huggins, Jr., Gary Huggins, Chuck Huggins, Billie Nyseth, Lauretta Kurth, Judy Newell, Rose Huggins, and George Huggins; father and mother-in-law, C.R. and Joan Kammerich; and a brother, Don Kammerich.
Prayers of the Rosary will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove, with visitation to follow until 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026, at the church with burial to follow at the St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Clear Creek. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family for the families discretion.
