Carl R. Wilson, 71, of Bourbon, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Carl Ray Wilson was born November 30, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri, to James "Jack" Wilson and Helen (Quick) Wilson. Carl grew up in Valley Park and later enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served honorably. After his service, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for several asphalt companies for more than 30 years.

He was most proud of being a father to his daughter, Jessica, whom he raised on his own. For a time, they lived in Michigan before Carl returned to Missouri to care for his parents.

Carl enjoyed golfing and riding motorcycles with his brother, Darrell. He was a simple man with a big smile, a sharp sense of humor, and a love of telling jokes. Though he carried a tough grit on the outside, he had a tender heart and was deeply devoted to his family. Above all, he was the best father Jessica could have ever asked for.

Carl is survived by his daughter, Jessica Wilson and husband Duane Christopher of Bourbon, Missouri; a grandson, Logan Kuhl of Bourbon, Missouri; a brother, Darrell Wilson and wife Susan "Binky" of Bourbon, Missouri; a nephew, Ian Wilson and wife Chrissy and their daughter, Hannah of Saint Clair, Missouri; many other cousins, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Helen Wilson.

Arrangements for cremation have taken place; no services are planned at this time.
