Carla Behle, 94, of Columbus, Neb., died Sunday, December 1, 2024, at David Place in David City, Neb.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, December 4, at 10:30 a.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev. Patrick Sparling officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. There will be a family prayer service on Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, stones, etc., memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the donor's choice.
Carla Joann Behle was born on March 2, 1930, in Columbus, to Gus and Emily (Krueger) Trofholz. She attended public school and graduated from Kramer High School in 1948. She played in the band in school. At the age of 16, she went to work part time as a clerk in F. W. Woolworth and then advanced to the office, working there until 1952.
On January 7, 1951, Carla was united in marriage to Gene Behle and they were blessed with two children: Barb and Doug. Carla helped her husband with his business of trucking, corn shelling, and excavation, doing bookkeeping and handling phone calls. She was an assistant leader for her daughter's Girl Scout Troop. She enjoyed her family, playing cards, her flower garden, doing puzzles, and volunteering at church.
Carla is survived by: daughter, Barb (Dan) Morrow; grandson, Justin (Cortney) Morrow; son, Doug (Becky) Behle; grandson, Nick (Nikki) Behle; great-grandchildren, Gus, Mabel and Henry Behle; granddaughter, Cassie (Clayton) Rief; great-granddaughters, Eva and Leah Rief; brother, Marv (Sandra) Trofholz; sisters-in-law, Nancy Gonka and Fani Trofholz; and many nieces and nephews.
Carla was preceded in death by parents, Gus and Emily Trofholz; husband, Gene Behle; brother, Rollo Trofholz; and brother-in-law, Chuck Gonka.
