Carla Sue Statton

Carla Sue Statton, born July 9, 1966, passed away suddenly on June 14, 2024. Carla was a beautiful soul, and leaves behind many who love her. Carla graduated from Tech High School in 1984 and married Ron Lee of Des Moines. Together, they raised 2 children. Later divorced, and after marrying Kurt Statton, Carla helped raise his two children.
Carla is survived by her two children, Raymond and Sarah Lee (Anthony), Step-children, Mason and Molly Statton, sisters Kim Campbell, Brenda, Shirley and Sherry. Also many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was the favorite of her two dogs, Odie and Buddy. Preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Virginia Dudley.
Carla loved the simple things in life. Family, friends, music, TV and cartoons. Animals, flowers, oceans and mountains. Also, shoes, purses and shopping! Her favorite place was the mountains of Colorado, where she and Kurt loved to camp. One of her favorite experiences was fostering a newborn fawn for a year. "Bucky" grew into a beautiful buck and still roams the neighborhood. Her favorite day was "Momma Monday". For several years, Carla and Sarah enjoyed that day together, doing what mothers and daughters do.
To everyone who met her, Carla was a bright light. She had an amazing ability to roll with the punches in life, forge ahead and always keep a positive attitude. One of her most precious lessons to us is to live life in the moment. Love and appreciate what is right in front of us, and never dwell. She will be missed dearly by many.
