Carlene June Carrillo, 62 of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, March 1, 2024 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Cremation is planned with a Celebration of Carlene’s life to be held from 3:00pm to 5:00pm on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at The Ridge Event Venue in Richmond.

Carlene was born April 10, 1962 to Carl Edwin and Margaret Jean (Grugin) Rogers. She was a graduate of Hardin-Central High School. She married Douglas (John) Carrillo on February 22, 1992 after 12 years of dating; he survives of the home. Together, they built a life full of love, commitment, and joy. Through every challenge and triumph, they created a partnership rooted in mutual respect, support, and shared dreams.

Additional survivors include: daughter, Kayla (Cody) Thompson of Chillicothe, MO; two grandchildren, Talan Thompson and Tinley Thompson. One sister, Liz (Steve) Waddell of Lexington, MO. Several nieces, nephews, & an aunt survive.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lloyd Rogers and Larry Rogers, and her "go-to" person, her sister, Diana Duncan.

Carlene had a heart for people and found happiness in caring for others anyway she could. Her greatest joys in life were in grandchildren, Talan and Tinley. She was an animal lover and rescued many dogs throughout her life. Her infectious laugh will be missed by many.

Memorials in honor of Carlene may be made to the family to help with final expenses.
