Carlene Kinworthy, 71, of Pittsburg, KS passed away at her home Saturday, March 28, 2026 after battling cancer. She was born on June 18, 1954 to Carl and Darlene in Lansing, KS.
Carlene graduated from Lansing High School in 1972. She went on to earn her Master's degree in Computer Science from Park College, graduating in 1994. Carlene married Mitchell Kinworthy on August 3, 1973 at the Wallula Christian Church of Lansing, KS. They shared 52 years of marriage.
During her professional career, Carlene worked at Fort Leavenworth as a Computer Specialist. Carlene retired in 2008 after 32 years. Her and Mitchell then moved from Leavenworth, KS to Pittsburg, KS. Carlene enjoyed going for long rides in the country and she loved to travel. She loved her dog, Daisy.
Carlene is survived by her husband, Mitchell Kinworthy, of the home; a son, Jason Kinworthy of Texas; a brother, John Lorraine of Ashgrove, MO; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren all of Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Darlene.
Cremation has taken place. Interment will take place on a later date at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Kansas City, MO. Friends and family may leave condolences at www.brennermortuary.com. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St. Pittsburg, KS 66762.

Mitchell and Family members! I am so very saddened to hear of your loss. Carlene was a wonderful woman plus a 2nd mom to My 2 girls. She was highly thought of in my family. Wonderful wife to Mitchell. Carlene will be missed, but truly never forgotten.
