Robert C. Kinworthy II (Chico), 69, of Columbus, went to be with Jesus on September 23, 2024, at 7:36 p.m. of cancer at his home. Born May 28, 1955, the son of Robert C. and Barbara J. Kinworthy.
Robert graduated from Columbus North High School in 1973, retired from Cummins and then worked at East High School for several years. He was a member of Dove Ministries.
When he was younger, he and his brother Greg would love to hunt for pop bottles and go mushroom hunting. He loved spending time playing golf with his friends and spending time with family too.
Rob is survived by his 2 daughters, Melissa (Jeff) Spears of Columbus and Michelle (Randy) Kelsay of Elizabethtown 2 sisters, Ginger Hallet of Canada and Jill (Mike)Newlin of Columbus; 1 brother, Greg Kinworthy of Florida; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his significant other, Valerie Nicholas; several nieces and nephews; and beloved Jack Russell, Marley and cat, July.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Barbara Kinworthy; grandparents; and late wife Sylvia Kinworthy.
A Celebration of Life will be 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Dove Ministries with Pastor Michael Newlin officiating. Calling will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Dove Ministries located at 5840 E. County Road 150 South Columbus, Indiana. Inurnment will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dove Ministries or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
