Carlene Aline Rhodd, her Ponca name "Míhusa" meaning Bright Moon given to her from her great grandfather, Simon Horsechief Eagle, who was the son of Horse Chief Eagle. Mrs. Rhodd was a resident of Ponca City, OK, who passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, surrounded by family at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. She was 42 years old. She is a descendant of Chief White Eagle, Chief WhiteTail, and Little Dance
The traditional noon feast will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2025, followed by the funeral service at 2:00pm at the Ponca Indian Cultural Center with Pastors Brandon Kemble, Greg Baer, and Brenton Carney Sr. officiating. Burial will then follow at the Ponca Indian Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
Carlene was born on Friday July 9, 1982, to Ledavie (Littlehoe) Rhodd and Carlton Rhodd, Sr. in Ponca City, OK. She received her High School Diploma and went on to study Business at Tarrant County College in Texas. She also studied Business at Pioneer Technology Center in Ponca City, OK.
Carlene cherished her time with her children and grandchildren, showering them with love and affection. She enjoyed visiting the casino and playing cards, reflecting her competitive spirit. She was a member of the Ponca Indian Methodist Church. She held various positions within the Ponca Tribe as a Receptionist, Accounts Payable Clerk and as a Procurement Officer. Earlier in her career, she was a 911 Operator and worked under the Federal Emergency Management Agency during Hurricane Katrina.
She is survived by: her four daughters and one son; Samira Isis Cerre and Triston Harris, Leah Cerre and Efrum Isham, Latisha Cerre and Max Escudero, Jason Cerre Jr., and Rionna Cerre; grandchildren, Soraya Williams, Shaden Harris, Lalita Athena Escudero, Max Hardman Escudero; six sisters and one brother, Debra Rhodd Presa, Althea Rhodd, Roberta Roy, Eagle Rhodd and wife Leah Kemble, Carla Carney and husband, Brenton Carney Sr., Arlena Roy, and Candice Rhodd; one aunt, Beverly Brown; nephews and nieces, Levi Iron, Betty Sandoval, Laurencia Leclair, Cornelius Leclair, London Leclair, Eagle Russell Rhodd, Rebecca Delodge, Turner Delodge, Trelon Delodge, Carl Delodge Jr., Darrell Delodge, Shannon Daugomah, Kevin Rhodd, William Rhodd, Brandon Rhodd, Evan Kent, Jerald Counselor, Tenugazi Rhodd, Wegasapi Rhodd, Niagiwathe Rhodd, Randy Rhodd, Brenton Carney Jr., Kevin Kemble Jr., Arianna Rhodd, Carlton Carney, Elijah Johnson, Eleeza Johnson, Lemuel Rhodd IV, Mary-Anna Rhodd, Charlotte Rhodd, Burnell Rhodd, Fred Warrior Jr., Annabelle Warrior, Ashley Warrior, Eagle Warrior, Austin Warrior. Loved ones who cared to the end; Coty Pigeon and Thomas Knight Jr.
She is preceded in death by: her mother and father; sister, Carleda Rhodd; brothers, Carlton Rhodd Jr., Randy Rhodd, Bradley York, and Brandon Brown.; and nephews, Shon Delodge and Edward Iron.
Casketbearers will be Thomas Knight Jr., Obie Iron, Cornelius Leclair Jr., William Rhodd, Kevin Kemble Jr., Carl Delodge Jr, Lemuel Rhodd IV, and Fred Warrior Jr., Brenton Carney Jr.,
